Traditional skills, natural materials, energy saving ideas
Among his many rural skills, Paul is a strawbale builder, having trained under acknowledged UK expert Barbara Jones of Amazon Nails. He is often called upon to lecture and give demonstrations on the subject, and has worked on a variety of strawbale buildings including a classroom at Carymoor Environmental Centre, a strawbale house in Somerset and a two-storey round barn, also in Somerset.
Paul can also carry out dry stone walling, hedge laying and coppicing.
The Garden Task Force team has extensive traditional building and roofing skills between them, whether it is a conservatory, timber-frame barn, garden room or simply a bespoke timber shed. We can dig the footings, lay the drainage, organise rainwater harvesting and build or repair roofs.
